Jeff sits down with Lindsay Bellino from Pearson’s Online Learning Exchange (OLE) to discuss how OLE is transforming the way educators share lesson materials with each other.

About Online Learning Exchange

  • The Online Learning Exchange (OLE) () is a web and mobile-ready destination that connects people, ideas and best-in-class content from Pearson, other educators and our partners such as NASA, Getty Images, Phet and more.
  • Enables teachers to search, organize, customize and share standards-based content to improve teaching, learning and collaboration
  • Teachers can upload their own content directly to the OLE platform alongside Pearson content, personalizing assignments for their class or front-of-class presentations and saving them to use again in the future
  • Teachers can engage in discussions with their peers using the national teacher discussion board forum to share ideas and extend their professional learning environment
  • Teachers can start a dialogue with their class using discussion board forums to gain better insight to their students’ understanding of content, help students make connections to bigger ideas and extend learning beyond the classroom walls
  • Teachers can modify Pearson assessments using the new Test Builder feature to customize multiple-choice assessments to check for student understanding of content
  • Students can attach a variety of file types to their assignments in OLE to support a differentiated approach to applying understanding through multiple forms of expressionOn August 2-3 we invited 14 educators from around the country to participate in a two-day hands-
  • on workshop in Arizona to Create Authentic Learning Experiences: (). During this workshop, teachers created project-based lesson plans based on best practices for teaching and learning that will become a part of a special For Teachers By Teachers collection in OLE. We are actively seeking additional educators who are interested in contributing their authentic learning lesson plans and becoming published OLE authors.
  • The OLE Community () blog is an extension of the OLE community where we share tips, tools and tricks for better teaching and learning. We are actively recruiting teachers and students to publish guest blog articles to expand the OLE community.
  • OLE’s “Election Series” () blog offers the latest on campaign issues and trends and gives educators and students a forum for sharing ideas. We will be launching our Classroom Voices feature on September 2nd where students can engage in civic discourse through the use of election polls, debate forums and applying to become citizen journalists for a chance to be featured on the OLE Election Series blog.
